Under the leadership of Chen Zhongwei, the team at the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, which is part of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, has triumphantly developed a soft-pack lithium metal primary battery in the 25Ah class. Tests have revealed that at low discharge rates, the energy density of this battery surpasses 750Wh/kg and 1285Wh/L. Moreover, the discharge rate can be escalated by a factor of one hundred, enabling it to achieve a 10C short-term high-current discharge. This achievement signifies that China has secured an internationally leading edge in the realm of high-power primary batteries, furnishing high-end equipment with an independent and reliable "power core".
