Recently, LG and Samsung Electronics have, one after another, declared that they will implement rigorous measures to crack down on non-compliant applications on smart TV platforms. These apps make use of residential proxy SDKs to transform user devices into proxy nodes, thereby putting users' internet connections at risk. Samsung Electronics has affirmed that it will prohibit any apps that share users' internet connections and enforce stringent platform-level developer policies that explicitly forbid the use of residential proxy SDKs. LG Electronics had also previously announced that it would suspend any apps capable of turning consumer TVs into residential proxies. This initiative is designed to safeguard consumer privacy and security, as well as to uphold the integrity of the platform ecosystem.
