The WeChat Earthquake Early Warning Platform has rolled out enhanced functionalities, notably "Earthquake Sensation Aggregation" and "Location Update". The "Earthquake Sensation Aggregation" feature gathers public reports of earthquake sensations to create a detailed distribution map, offering a visual representation of the earthquake's impact across regions. Meanwhile, the "Location Update" function refines the precision of matching earthquake warnings with users' geographical locations, ensuring timely and accurate alerts.

Building upon the foundation of the national earthquake early warning system, the platform initiated a comprehensive, nationwide earthquake early warning service in August 2024. This service is structured around a framework of "1 national mini-program complemented by 31 provincial mini-programs", creating a seamless and extensive warning network. As of now, the platform has successfully issued early warnings for over 700 seismic events, amassing a subscriber base of more than 60 million users. When combined with the national earthquake early warning functionalities embedded in mobile phone operating systems, it forms a robust public outreach mechanism, reaching a cumulative user audience surpassing 400 million.
