TrendForce's latest robotics industry research reveals that companion robots have broadened their application horizons. Initially focused on elderly care and therapeutic companionship, these robots now offer more lifelike human-like interactions and emotional support. Recently, Chinese manufacturer UBTECH introduced its ultra-realistic humanoid robot, the U1, heralding the official dawn of the human-like realism era for companion robots. Amid global trends of aging populations and declining birthrates, which are resulting in a growing number of individuals living alone, the demand for companion humanoid robots is skyrocketing, fueled by the 'companionship economy.' It is forecasted that their market value will soar to US$1.1 billion by 2030.
