Recently, the White House has urged the UK government not to implement a complete ban on social media for individuals under the age of 16, stating that such a move could impose a "disproportionate" compliance burden on American tech companies. In its submission regarding the UK's "Online Safety" consultation, the US government explicitly opposed the use of "one-size-fits-all" government regulations and rigid regulatory tools to address online risks faced by children.
