The State Grid has revealed that the virtual power plant management platform in Nanjing has successfully onboarded 20 operators, amassed a user base of over 4,300, and declared a regulatory capacity surpassing 300,000 kilowatts. This capacity is on par with that of a large-scale, environmentally friendly peak-shaving power station. It's important to note that virtual power plants are not tangible power stations in the traditional sense. Rather, they function by consolidating dispersed power resources, such as electric vehicles and industrial electrical equipment, for centralized management and intelligent distribution. This approach effectively balances the electricity demand during peak and off-peak periods on the grid.
