On April 11th, reports emerged that Huawei had issued an FAQ document on April 10th, detailing significant changes to its severance compensation policy, with a particular emphasis on employees opting for voluntary resignation. According to the revised policy, with the exception of dismissals or terminations resulting from violations of company rules and regulations, all other resignation scenarios—including voluntary resignations—will now qualify for the N+1 severance package. This severance compensation may surpass statutory requirements and encompasses various components such as standard salary, performance-related pay, bonuses, allowances, and overtime compensation. This policy revision comes a mere three days after Huawei's announcement on April 7th, which had initially canceled the N+1 compensation for voluntary resignations. The updated policy will take effect for employees with an attendance cutoff date of April 1st, 2026, or later.
