Today, on April 10, 2026, our reporter has obtained information from the China Energy Engineering Group, revealing that China has officially initiated construction on its groundbreaking 500,000-ton biomass-based green alcohol-oil demonstration project. This project, formally named the 500,000-Ton Wind-Solar Hydrogen Production Integrated with Biomass Green Alcohol-Oil Demonstration Project, is situated in Shenyang, Liaoning Province. Boasting a substantial total investment of 32 billion yuan, the project is set to harness the local 'wind power + biomass' resources to achieve an impressive annual production capacity of 500,000 tons of biomass-based green alcohol-oil. This will be underpinned by a robust 2-gigawatt centralized wind power system. It is anticipated that the project will require an approximate annual input of 3 million tons of biomass. The commencement of this project signifies a pivotal moment, as China's hydrogen-based liquid fuel industry officially transitions from the demonstration stage to large-scale construction and development.
