On April 2, Raymond Chen, a seasoned Windows engineer at Microsoft, penned an article imploring users and enterprise IT teams to refrain from hastily pinning system malfunctions on Windows updates. He emphasized that numerous problems ascribed to the monthly updates are, in reality, not connected to the updates per se. Rather, the system restarts prompted by the updates bring to light pre-existing, concealed issues. These could include newly installed drivers, software, or alterations to Group Policy that were rolled out weeks prior. Chen advised users to ascertain whether the problem was already present before the update took place, before jumping to conclusions about its origin.
