According to the Aiqicha App, Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL), in collaboration with its Future Energy (Shanghai) Research Institute Co., Ltd., has recently secured a utility model patent for a 'Joint Structure and Robot.' This patent, which lies at the forefront of robotics technology, details an innovative joint structure that comprises a joint assembly along with first and second driving components.
The first driving component is strategically positioned on the base part and incorporates a first drive shaft oriented in a specific direction to effectively drive the connecting part. Meanwhile, the second driving component is mounted on the connecting part, featuring its own second drive shaft, also aligned in the same direction to propel the movable part. Notably, the first and second driving components are designed to at least partially overlap in this direction, optimizing space utilization.
When integrated into the neck of a humanoid robot, this technical solution offers a significant advantage by effectively addressing the challenge of bulky neck joint structures that have plagued existing humanoid robot designs.
