Apple is seeking to expand its service business revenue and is considering introducing advertisements in Apple Maps, but this move may lead to adverse consequences. Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman pointed out that this decision carries significant risks and could infuriate users. Apple's core users are willing to pay high prices for its products and are sensitive to advertisements. Moreover, the App Store's advertising business already generates approximately $20 billion in annual revenue for Apple, making the introduction of new ads not an urgent necessity. Apple has repeatedly promised in the past that some of its services would remain ad-free, only to often change its stance. Now, introducing ads in Apple Maps may trigger a backlash from users, making this strategy unwise. Although Apple Maps has monetization potential, with a large user base, it cannot sacrifice user experience to achieve this goal.
