Recently, at the 2026 China Internet Media Forum, Wang Xingxing, the founder of Unitree Robotics, announced that during the upcoming Beijing Yizhuang Humanoid Robot Half Marathon on April 19, several humanoid robots are projected to finish the race in under an hour, achieving a faster time than human competitors. He highlighted that Unitree's humanoid robots have already showcased remarkable athletic prowess, clinching multiple championships at the 2025 World Humanoid Robot Games, including completing a 1500-meter run in just over six minutes. Wang further predicted that the 'GPT moment' for embodied AI—a turning point where robots can perform 80% of tasks in 80% of unfamiliar environments through simple voice commands—could arrive within the next two to three years.
