Apple Inc. has revealed that it will roll out a new, all-in-one enterprise service platform, dubbed ‘Apple Business,’ across more than 200 countries and regions worldwide on April 14. This platform, offered at no cost to businesses of any scale, is designed to streamline enterprise operations, diminish the obstacles to digital transformation, and supersede three existing services. Upon its debut, certain data will be seamlessly transferred, and the monthly charges for device management will be abolished.
The platform's fundamental features encompass device management and collaborative office capabilities. Device management includes overseeing managed Apple accounts, employee and permission management, among others. On the collaboration front, it facilitates services like setting up business email. The available functionalities may differ based on regional compliance requirements and market demands, with only four primary features being supported in mainland China. Supporting applications and certain features necessitate specific system support, and zero-touch deployment is exclusively applicable to devices procured through specific channels.
The Apple Business platform signifies a transition from fragmented to unified enterprise services, lowering the entry costs for businesses, accommodating regional-specific functionalities, and is anticipated to entice more businesses into the Apple ecosystem.
