Last month, Type One Energy, a startup supported by Bill Gates, submitted its first construction license application to regulators, planning to build an experimental stellarator nuclear fusion reactor at the site of the former Bull Run fossil power plant in Clinton, Tennessee. Named the 'Infinity Project,' the initiative includes the Infinity-1 prototype and the Infinity-2 commercial fusion power station, expected to commence operations after 2029 and 2028, respectively.
