Amid a backdrop of AI companies and startups entering the browser market, Google Chrome, the world's most widely used browser, announced the launch of new productivity features, including Split View for tabbed browsing, PDF annotation tools, and a 'Save to Google Drive' option, aiming to solidify its market dominance through deep integration of its own online services. These new features officially rolled out on Thursday local time. Among them, Split View allows users to display two webpages side by side within the same tab, facilitating multitasking; the PDF annotation tool supports highlighting and adding notes directly to PDF files within the browser; and the 'Save to Google Drive' option enables users to save PDF files directly to the cloud, preventing local file loss. Additionally, Chrome has introduced the Gemini AI assistant to provide a smarter browsing experience.
