On February 5th, CNBC reported that U.S. President Trump stated in an interview on Wednesday that he would not intervene in the bidding war between Netflix and Paramount for Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD). During an interview with NBC Nightly News, Trump said, "I have never been involved in it." Both parties had contacted him, but he decided not to participate, leaving the matter to be handled by the Department of Justice. Netflix proposed acquiring WBD for $72 billion, excluding the cable television network business; Paramount, on the other hand, proposed a full acquisition for over $108 billion.
