Recently, four key departments—among them, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology—have jointly introduced the "Several Measures of Beijing Municipality for Fostering the Growth and Application of Commercial Satellite Remote Sensing Data Resources (2026-2030)." These measures are designed to propel the development and utilization of commercial satellite remote sensing data resources across five pivotal domains: foundational capabilities, shared support systems, technological innovation, the environment for development and utilization, and the expansion of application scenarios. The overarching objective is to establish Beijing as a pioneering hub for satellite application services, seamlessly integrating space and ground systems, driven by application needs, and blending digital and intelligent technologies.

Specific strategies outlined in these measures encompass:

  • Bolstering the foundational capabilities for remote sensing data resources, enhancing the operational efficiency of various entities, and fortifying the construction of space infrastructure.
  • Improving shared support capabilities by advocating for standardized data processing and sharing mechanisms.
  • Boosting technological innovation capabilities through the support of research and development in key technologies and the establishment of high-caliber innovation platforms.
  • Optimizing the environment for development and utilization by promoting the assetization of data and reinforcing data security measures.
  • Expanding application scenarios by facilitating the intelligent integration of communication, navigation, and remote sensing, as well as driving large-scale applications in key industries.
