Amazon: To Launch Over 100 Whole Foods Market Stores Across the U.S. in the Next Few Years

On January 27, Amazon made an announcement stating that it currently offers fresh grocery delivery services in more than 5,000 towns and cities throughout the United States. In thousands of these areas, same-day delivery is readily available. Looking ahead, Amazon has outlined plans to extend its same-day fresh grocery delivery service to an even broader range of communities by 2026. In a related move, Amazon will be shutting down its Go and Fresh stores. Some of these stores will undergo a transformation and be rebranded as Whole Foods Market stores. Whole Foods Market, in turn, has ambitious plans to open over 100 new stores in the years to come.
