He noted that China's commercial space sector is evolving from a 'supporting player' to a 'strategic mainstay', set to claim a prominent place in the global arena. Xu Ming highlighted that space technology is at the forefront of a new wave of technological advancement, marking the dawn of an era characterized by space scientific and technological innovation.
He stressed that the establishment of new space infrastructure is paramount, and the pace of its development will be crucial in determining our ability to capitalize on emerging opportunities. Direct satellite connectivity through mobile phones, he predicted, will be at the vanguard of the 6G communication revolution. Currently, he explained, we are in the initial phase of the space scientific and technological innovation era, specifically the stage of building space digital infrastructure. Looking ahead, he envisioned a future where energy and manufacturing hubs will also be established in space.
