Japanese aerospace firm SPACE ONE has revealed plans to launch the third iteration of its compact rocket, 'KAIROS,' at 11:00 a.m. local time on February 25, 2026. The launch will take place from the 'Space Port Kii,' a civilian rocket launch facility located in Kushimoto Town, Wakayama Prefecture.
The inaugural launch of 'KAIROS' ended in an explosion roughly 5 seconds after liftoff in March 2024. The second attempt, in December of the same year, also met with failure when the rocket self-destructed due to a malfunction during its ascent. Despite reaching an altitude of approximately 110 kilometers, the mission was unsuccessful in deploying the satellite into its intended orbit.
