On December 4, 2025, Microsoft made an official announcement regarding the complete opening of the upgrade pathway for the Windows 11 25H2 edition. This move grants all Windows 10 and Windows 11 devices that satisfy the hardware prerequisites the opportunity to upgrade. To initiate the upgrade, users are required to activate the 'Get the Latest Updates as Soon as They Are Available' option. This can be done by navigating to 'Settings' > 'Windows Update'. After enabling this option, users should then proceed to check for updates and subsequently install them. Microsoft has stuck to its initial hardware criteria and has not increased the upgrade threshold. However, it's worth noting that some of the newly introduced AI features necessitate more robust processor or NPU (Neural Processing Unit) support.
