Netflix released a statement, declaring that a conclusive transaction agreement has been inked. Under the terms, Netflix will purchase the film and television studios, along with the streaming business, of Warner Bros. Discovery. The acquisition will take place at a price of $27.75 per share, with a mix of cash and stock. The overall enterprise valuation is estimated to be around $82.7 billion (equity value at $72 billion). The deal is anticipated to be officially finalized after Warner Bros. Discovery finishes divesting its global networks business unit, Discovery Global. The acquisition is projected to be wrapped up in the third quarter of 2026. In the event that the transaction falls through due to regulatory hurdles, Netflix will be liable to pay a termination fee of $5 billion.
