On November 28, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology hosted a symposium specifically tailored for manufacturing firms operating within the power and energy storage battery sector. Li Lecheng, who serves as both the Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and the Minister of the Ministry, was present at the event and delivered a keynote speech. Meanwhile, Xin Guobin, a Member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Minister, took charge of moderating the proceedings.

Throughout the symposium, leaders representing 12 enterprises spanning the entire power and energy storage battery industry chain engaged in comprehensive discussions. Their conversations revolved around crucial topics including enterprise operations, technological research and development endeavors, market competition dynamics, and the protection of intellectual property rights. These leaders shared valuable insights into the current situations of their respective enterprises, highlighting the challenges they are currently encountering. Additionally, they put forth constructive suggestions and recommendations.

Li Lecheng paid close attention to the presentations made by the enterprises and provided directives to the relevant departments. He instructed them to meticulously consider and address each of the issues raised by the firms. He underscored the significance that the Party Central Committee places on the development of the power and energy storage battery industry. Li noted that while China has, in recent years, gained a competitive edge on the global stage in this sector, the industry is still grappling with a multitude of issues and challenges.

He stressed that industry enterprises ought to embody the entrepreneurial spirit, steer clear of irrational competition, and strive to maintain a healthy market environment. Furthermore, they should prioritize innovation-driven growth by increasing their investment in research and development, thereby bolstering their core competitiveness. Additionally, Li encouraged firms to strengthen collaboration within the industry chain, enhance their self-reliance and control capabilities, and cultivate new development advantages.

He also emphasized the role of industry associations, urging them to deepen their tracking research efforts, strengthen self-regulation, and actively promote the establishment of a collaborative and mutually beneficial industrial ecosystem. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, for its part, is committed to scientifically formulating the '15th Five-Year Plan' for industrial development. This will involve increasing support for technological innovation, providing robust guidance on standard-setting, enhancing the modernization of industrial governance, and ultimately creating a conducive environment for high-quality industrial development.
