On November 27, China marked the official commencement of construction for the Qinghai Hainan Clean Energy Transmission Base Power Supply Project in Xining, Qinghai. This project, known as the 'Shagehuang' mega-base, stands out as the largest in China in terms of power supply scale and boasts the highest proportion of new energy utilization.
With a staggering total investment of nearly 73 billion yuan, the project is set to achieve a total power supply capacity of 19.44 million kilowatts. Remarkably, new energy sources will constitute over 80% of this capacity. The generated power will be directly transmitted to Guangdong Province through Ultra-High Voltage Direct Current (UHV DC) transmission channels, ensuring an impressive average annual power generation capacity of up to 36 billion kilowatt-hours.
