LG Energy Solution to Manufacture LFP Batteries for ESS in South Korea

By the end of 2025, LG Energy Solution is set to establish an LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery production line at its Ochang Energy Plant in South Korea. Formal production operations are scheduled to kick off in 2027. Initially, the production capacity will stand at 1GWh, and there are plans in place to incrementally expand this capacity in response to market demand.
It's worth noting that the company has already initiated LFP battery production at its facilities in Nanjing, China, and Michigan, USA. This strategic move positions LG Energy Solution as the sole non - Chinese company that boasts a large - scale production system for LFP batteries intended for use in Energy Storage Systems (ESS).
