In a bid to bolster the enforcement of the newly established national standard known as the "Safety Technical Specifications for Electric Bicycles," the Beijing Municipal Market Supervision and Administration Bureau convened a meeting with key electric bicycle enterprises. During this gathering, four critical safeguarding measures were proposed. Firstly, enterprises were urged to expedite the introduction of models adhering to the new national standard. Secondly, they were instructed to standardize their sales practices. Thirdly, it was mandated that products must align precisely with certification information to maintain consistency. Lastly, the sale of non-compliant vehicles was strictly prohibited. To ensure compliance, the supervisory department will intensify its oversight efforts, conduct sampling inspections, and perform law enforcement checks. Additionally, they will optimize product catalog management and enhance public awareness. Consumers are advised to purchase electric bicycles that conform to the new national standard through authorized channels, thereby guaranteeing their riding safety.
