Peter Navarro, a senior advisor to the White House, has recently voiced criticism against a federal appeals court decision that deemed a majority of President Trump's "reciprocal tariffs" imposed on international trading partners as unlawful. Navarro denounced the ruling as biased and a substantial setback for the government's trade agenda. By a vote of 7 to 4, the court upheld the earlier decision of the Court of International Trade, concluding that the International Emergency Economic Powers Act invoked by Trump did not grant authority for the imposition of these tariffs. In response, the Trump administration has appealed to the Supreme Court.
