Meta has introduced new limitations on its AI chatbots aimed at safeguarding teenage users. These measures prohibit conversations with teens regarding self-harm, suicide, eating disorders, and sexual or romantic topics. Additionally, access to features that could generate content inappropriate for their age is restricted. Instagram and Facebook accounts belonging to teenagers will now only offer safe interaction modes focused on education and creativity. Meta has characterized these changes as temporary, with more extensive safety updates scheduled for release in the upcoming months.
