Postal services across the globe have halted the shipment of packages to the United States, following the impending rescission of the tariff exemption for small packages by the U.S. government. This move has triggered turmoil within the transportation industry. An executive order signed by President Trump previously mandated that the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) would cease exempting small packages from tariffs effective August 29, a policy that had previously facilitated the daily flow of over 4 million packages.
