Guangzhou has unveiled an ambitious plan for the high-quality development of virtual power plants. By 2025, the city aims to achieve a connected capacity of 2 million kilowatts and a regulation capacity of 800,000 kilowatts. These figures are projected to surge to 4 million kilowatts and 1.2 million kilowatts, respectively, by 2026. By 2027, the plan further encompasses the integration of distributed photovoltaic resources of 10 kilovolts and above, user-side energy storage, and other resources, with an ambitious target of 5 million kilowatts in connected capacity and 1.5 million kilowatts in regulation capacity. To foster the adoption of virtual power plants, the municipal finance will allocate up to 10 million yuan annually in awards and subsidies.
