By 2035, it is anticipated that data centers will account for 4.5% of global electricity consumption, rising to 8.7% by 2050. To cater to this growing demand, the world is projected to install an additional 362GW of new power generation capacity by 2035. Furthermore, the report underscores the rapid adoption of renewable energy and new energy vehicles, driven by their enhanced cost competitiveness and technological maturity. By 2030, renewable energy generation is set to surge by 84%, with expectations of doubling again by 2050 to meet 67% of global electricity demand, significantly surpassing the 33% recorded in 2024.
