In 2024, China's software and information technology (IT) services industry witnessed robust growth, generating a revenue of RMB 13,727.6 billion, marking a 10% year-on-year increase. The industry's total profit amounted to RMB 1,695.3 billion, reflecting an 8.7% uptick. Notably, software business exports totaled US$56.95 billion, experiencing a 3.5% rise. Revenues from software products stood at RMB 3,041.7 billion, while industrial software and basic software sectors saw respective growths of 7.4% and 6.9%. The IT services segment expanded significantly, with an 11% revenue increase to RMB 9,219 billion, particularly driven by the sub-sectors of cloud computing and big data services. The information security products and services sector reported a revenue of RMB 229 billion, up 5.1%. Additionally, embedded system software revenue climbed 11.8% to RMB 1,237.9 billion. Regionally, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei area and the Yangtze River Delta region contributed 25.8% and 28.3% of the national software business revenues, respectively.
