Masdar has proclaimed that Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited (CATL) will furnish the battery energy storage solution for the UAE's RTC project. This colossal undertaking, with a total investment exceeding $6 billion, encompasses a battery energy storage capacity of 19GWh and a photovoltaic project with a capacity of 5.2GW. The project's ambition is to establish the world's largest integrated solar and battery energy storage system. Upon its completion, it will mark a milestone as the first large-scale, round-the-clock power generation project globally, capable of delivering 1GW of uninterrupted clean energy 24/7 to fuel AI+ zero-carbon green data centers. CATL will supply its Tianheng battery energy storage system, renowned for its superior safety, durability, and high integration, thereby pioneering energy storage technology solutions tailored for large-scale data center applications.
