October 30 — On October 21, 2026, CAICT, together with China Telecom, China Mobile, Shanghai Unicom, the Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics under the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Huixin Sky, and Green Computing Technology, jointly launched the "Computing Power Infrastructure Strengthening Rankings Challenge" — Storage Power Direction Goose Plan. The initiative is designed to mobilize industry-wide collaboration, with an implementation roadmap organized into three phases: the pilot research phase, in which shortlisted enterprises are organized to refine technical solutions and address critical gaps in storage technologies for AI-driven business scenarios; the leading goose demonstration phase, which focuses on building storage benchmarks around typical business scenarios, conducting prototype validation and field pilots, and accumulating replicable implementation solutions; and the comprehensive scaling phase, which aims to deepen industry–academia–research–application collaboration, improve standards and testing frameworks, synthesize pilot experience, and drive large-scale commercialization of key technologies.
