On October 28, the Beijing Municipal People's Government unveiled a strategic plan. This plan emphasizes the need to harmonize energy resources with computing power allocation, elevate the quality of energy provision for computing facilities, and guarantee that all new computing centers will operate solely on green electricity. Concurrently, it sets out to drive energy-saving and carbon-reducing upgrades for infrastructure elements like computing power, communication base stations, and server rooms. The goal is to bring the power usage effectiveness (PUE) of existing data centers down to below 1.35 and to elevate the energy efficiency and carbon efficiency per unit of computing power to internationally leading standards.
