Spurred by worries over the substantial equipment replacement expenses that could potentially emerge due to future EU bans, Spanish telecommunications operators have devised a unique strategy in response. As per a report from the Spanish newspaper 'Expansión', Orange España, the Spanish arm of the French telecommunications conglomerate Orange, has put forth a request to its mobile network equipment provider, Huawei. The demand states that if Spain or the EU were to prohibit the utilization of equipment from the Chinese company in communication networks down the line, Huawei would be obligated to reimburse Orange for the investment losses incurred on the pertinent equipment.
