On October 20, MVIS Technology disclosed that its wholly-owned unit, Hainan Xingwei, has entered into a Sales Agreement with Company X for the acquisition of GPU computing cards, with a total value of 839 million yuan. The funding for this purchase will come from a combination of the company's own reserves and bank credit lines, among other sources. These computing cards are earmarked for the training and inference deployment of artificial intelligence models, as well as for handling large-scale visual data processing tasks.
The agreement stipulates batch deliveries of the computing cards, with the funds being utilized on a rolling basis. MVIS Technology has issued a cautionary note, highlighting that due to variables such as the chip supply chain dynamics and the overall industry supply-demand balance, this procurement endeavor may encounter risks including potential delivery delays. Consequently, the company is currently unable to provide a precise assessment of the specific impact this will have on its financial indicators for the current year.
