Due to the escalating investments in servers and AI infrastructure by hyperscale cloud service providers, projections indicate that the combined capital expenditure of the world's top nine cloud service providers (CSPs) will exceed US$957 billion by 2026, marking a significant annual increase of 106%. Looking ahead to 2027, this figure is expected to soar past the US$1.5 trillion mark, with an annual growth rate of 60%. Both projections have undergone upward revisions. Specifically, the annual growth rate projection for the capital expenditure of these nine major CSPs in 2027 has been adjusted from 50% to 60%. This adjustment primarily stems from the escalating prices of complete server systems, heightened quotes driven by component shortages, and the requirement by some component suppliers for advance payments from customers to secure supply, prompting CSPs to disburse cash at an earlier stage. The nine major CSPs encompass industry giants such as Google, Amazon, Meta, Microsoft, Oracle, as well as ByteDance, Tencent, Alibaba, and Baidu.
