Recently, Sceye, a U.S.-based high-altitude platform enterprise, announced the successful completion of a groundbreaking communication test. An unmanned high-altitude airship took off from New Mexico, USA, journeyed across the vast Pacific Ocean, and ultimately reached Japan. During this expedition, the airship functioned as a mobile communication hub in the stratosphere, hovering at an impressive altitude of around 16.5 to 17 kilometers above the Earth's surface. This innovative "aerial base station" enabled regular smartphones to send text messages, make phone calls, surf the internet, and stream videos seamlessly. Notably, users did not need to switch their phones or install any specialized hardware to access these services, marking a significant leap in wireless communication technology.
