The proportion of individual investors participating in ETF investments is steadily on the rise. According to data from the Fund Observatory, among the 48 ETFs newly listed in September, individual investors held over 80% of the shares, with 19 of these ETFs seeing individual investor ownership surpass 90%. When it comes to investment types, thematic and industry-specific ETFs have emerged as the top choices among individual investors. Take the 48 ETFs listed in September as a case in point: 37 of them had listed shares valued at less than 300 million, while only two exceeded the 1 billion mark. In terms of investment sectors, the newly listed ETFs are predominantly focused on three areas: firstly, the ChiNext computing power ETF; secondly, technology growth-themed ETFs, encompassing areas such as science and technology innovation chips, science and technology innovation materials, and cloud computing; and thirdly, stable investment options, including dividends, banking, and cash flow-related ETFs.
