On October 3, data released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology revealed that during the first eight months of this year, China’s telecommunications sector sustained its growth momentum, with the construction and application of networks, particularly 5G, progressing steadily. As of the end of August, the total number of 5G base stations in China had reached 5.195 million, accounting for 39.7% of all mobile base stations. Concurrently, the total number of fixed internet broadband access users climbed to 704 million, marking an increase of 13.65 million from the end of the previous year. The total number of mobile phone users reached 1.849 billion, among which 1.311 billion were 5G users. Additionally, the number of mobile IoT terminal users surged to 3.07 billion, representing a net increase of 182 million from the end of last year.
