On October 2, Bull, the manufacturer of Europe's fastest supercomputer, announced that as Europe ramps up its efforts to enhance AI computing power, the company reopened its expanded factory on Thursday, doubling its production capacity. The EU plans to invest €7 billion from 2021 to 2027 to build a supercomputer network, and Bull's factory in Angers, France—the only facility in Europe dedicated to producing such supercomputers—has expanded to help achieve this goal. Bull CEO Emmanuel Le Roux revealed that the company has secured a record number of orders this year, winning 15 out of 18 tenders issued by the EU institution EuroHPC. Bull executives also stated that the expansion of the Angers factory, which cost €80 million, has increased production from six cabinets per month to 12.
