With the approval of the China Securities Regulatory Commission, the Shanghai Futures Exchange is set to significantly broaden the horizons for foreign investors. Beginning at the market opening at 9:00 AM on September 28, 2026, the exchange will extend its commodity futures and options trading opportunities to include Eligible Foreign Institutional Investors and RMB Qualified Foreign Institutional Investors (hereafter jointly referred to as Eligible Foreign Investors). This expansion will encompass the newly introduced futures and options trading for alumina, foundry aluminum alloy, butadiene rubber, and offset printing paper, offering a more diverse and inclusive investment landscape.
