On September 8, 2026, at the 26th China International Fair for Investment and Trade, the RMB Cross-border Interbank Payment System (CIPS) signed agreements with 11 foreign banks as direct participants, covering countries such as Rwanda, Turkey, and Uzbekistan for the first time, further enhancing its global service capabilities. After the signing, CIPS participants are distributed across 133 countries and regions worldwide, with business coverage extending to 192 countries and regions.
