On September 7th, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology unveiled the "15th Five-Year Plan for the Development of the Information and Communication Industry." This plan outlines a strategy to advance the construction of information infrastructure in a measured way, deploy globally competitive network facilities, and drive the upgrade of urban and hotspot area networks to achieve 'dual 10-Gigabit' capabilities.

The plan underscores the importance of deepening the extensive coverage of 5G networks in key scenarios. It advocates for advancing the continuous coverage of 5G-A networks in urban areas at and above the county level, with a gradual extension to key townships. This will enable hotspot urban areas to attain 10-Gigabit downlink and Gigabit uplink capabilities, enhancing network performance significantly.

Simultaneously, the plan proposes to initiate the commercialization of 6G technology at an appropriate time, conduct trials of 10-Gigabit optical networks, and expand their coverage. It also emphasizes the ongoing implementation of the "Signal Enhancement" initiative to improve the overall user experience.

Furthermore, the plan focuses on enhancing the wide-area coverage and intelligent connectivity capabilities of mobile IoT. It promotes technological innovation and integrated applications of IPv6, and advances the orderly deployment of IPv6-only stacks, paving the way for a more connected and intelligent future.
