In July 2026, the National Standardization Administration Committee released two national standards, namely, Asset Management - Classification and Codes for Data Assets (GB/T 47949-2026) and Asset Management - Guide for Registration of Data Assets (GB/T 47950-2026), which will be officially implemented from September 1. Asset Management - Classification and Codes for Data Assets divides data assets into three subcategories (structured data, semi-structured data, and unstructured data) and 15 detailed categories under the broad category of “intangible assets of information data type,” balancing classification granularity and practicality while allowing room for expansion. Asset Management - Guide for Registration of Data Assets establishes the overall principles for data asset registration, clarifies the registration implementer, content, process, and requirements, and proposes specific requirements for ledger and accounting book registration around the three stages of initial, change, and cancellation registration, forming a standardized data asset registration management system.
