In August 2026, Microsoft rolled out an unattended remote assistance capability for enterprise IT administrators as part of an update to its Intune service. This new feature allows authorized support staff to log in to remote devices using their own credentials, enabling them to carry out troubleshooting and task management without requiring the user's presence. As part of Microsoft Intune's regular monthly service updates, this enhancement has undergone internal validation and is now being gradually deployed to users worldwide. Designed primarily for enterprise Windows devices, this feature aims to boost IT resource management efficiency by strengthening remote operation and maintenance capabilities. At present, Microsoft has not announced any plans to extend this functionality to individual users.
