On August 22, the 2026 Green Computing Power (Artificial Intelligence) Conference convened in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, drawing over 500 academicians, experts, and representatives from leading enterprises. Under the theme "Collaboratively Paving the Path for Computing-Power and Electricity Synergy, Jointly Exploring the New Landscape of the Data-Element Economy, and Co-creating the Future of Artificial Intelligence," the conference unveiled nine significant achievements. It also witnessed the centralized signing of 13 pivotal projects, boasting a total investment of 136.1 billion yuan. These projects span various sectors, including chip testing, equipment manufacturing, computing power centers, and data-element factories.

The conference underscored the imperative for green computing power to strike a balance between speed and energy efficiency, achieving breakthroughs across four key dimensions: equipment, carriers, energy, and applications. Technologies such as liquid cooling and high-speed optical interconnects are propelling the greening of computing power equipment. Across eight national computing power hubs, 42 intelligent computing clusters, each housing 10,000 cards, have been established. Furthermore, the Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of hyperscale data centers has been reduced to 1.34.

The synergy between computing power and electricity is driving down energy consumption through mechanisms like direct green power connections and flexible scheduling. Relevant indicators have surged by 496.8% year-on-year. Innovative business models, such as computing power networks and the data-element economy, are expanding high-value-added services. Notably, the daily calls for data elements have increased over a thousandfold in just two years.

Leveraging its strengths, including an installed new energy capacity exceeding 7.12 million kilowatts and over 85% green power usage in data centers, Hohhot has constructed a comprehensive industrial chain. This chain spans from hardware equipment to industry applications, providing robust green computing power support for the development of artificial intelligence.
