On August 24, the internal configuration of Apple’s self-developed Apple Silicon AI server was disclosed. The server features a custom 2U rack design, with its internal hardware organized into four columns, each housing eight computing units. The entire system is likely to be equipped with 32 processors. Sources suggest that this could be the 'Apple M5 server', which might serve as Apple’s private cloud computing hardware, necessitating use alongside the Mac Studio.

The outer arrangement of the server’s circuit board showcases a centrally located heat sink, flanked by brackets on either side to facilitate easy assembly and disassembly. Some chips bear the Apple logo, indicating that their specifications are likely similar to those of the M5 Ultra. A connector is positioned at the center of the chassis, linking the hardware in each column to the main control board, although the purpose of the cables remains uncertain.

The server’s design prioritizes airflow efficiency, with a fan installed at one end of each column and a closed air duct to direct airflow for effective heat dissipation. This thoughtful design not only enhances the server’s performance but also ensures its stability and reliability in demanding computing environments.
