Saudi Arabia’s stc, in collaboration with Huawei, has achieved a groundbreaking milestone by successfully deploying the world’s first Multi-Band Multi-Beam (MB²) microwave commercial solution in Riyadh. This innovative solution boasts a highly integrated antenna design, enabling a single antenna to cover eight microwave bands and support ten beams operating concurrently. It reduces the number of antennas required by 90%, enhances installation and debugging efficiency by 90%, and allows for flexible expansion after a single deployment, thereby meeting the dense networking demands of 5G. After rigorous testing in extreme environments, the system has proven capable of operating stably under high-temperature and strong-wind conditions. Moving forward, the two parties will explore network upgrades based on this solution, offering a valuable reference for the construction of global 5G bearer networks.
